A lifetime of stonemasonry experience

Anthony Santucci is the founder of Stone Wizard. He is a third-generation stonemason, having got a taste of the craft in his grandfather’s workshop and by working alongside his father in his tile shop.

He realised his passion early in his adult life and travelled to Italy to train under some of their best stonemasons. Here, Anthony got to work with innovative tools and machines, which were not yet available in Australia. But, knowing that they could elevate his service and skills, Anthony was quick to bring a CNC Machine abroad, being one of the first in the industry to do so on Australian soil.

In 2002 Anthony branched out on his own with a business called Designer Stone. He worked with this company for 10 years before giving it away in favour of managerial opportunities. In these roles, he oversaw the design and installation processes of stonework in several recognisable Melbourne locations. This is where the idea for Stone Wizard was born.

Anthony’s vision for Stone Wizard is to be like a broker of sorts. He doesn’t have a factory, preferring to outsource his cutting works to other Melbourne-based companies who are experienced with particular stones. Anthony’s role is to design and measure, oversee the cutting, and install the stonework. Stone Wizard is almost an entirely mobile business that reduces the overheads regularly passed onto the customer. By doing this, Stone Wizard is often quite competitively priced.
